Draft of 28 October 2026, to be reviewed before public launch.
The free preview
When you enter an ABN we send it to the Australian Business Register’s ABN Lookup service and show what it returns: the entity name, business names, state and postcode. We do not store the ABN or the result beyond a short cache on our server that keeps the service fast. We do not ask for your email to show a preview.
Your account
When you subscribe we keep your email address, the ABN and business name you give us, your postcode and state from the ABN record, your interests (sectors, themes, councils, job sizes), and a record of the emails we send you. We use these to run your account and send the weekly email, and for nothing else. We don’t sell or share them.
You receive the weekly email because you subscribed. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to change your interests. Unsubscribing stops the email and leaves your account in place. Emails are sent through a third-party email provider under its own privacy terms.
Payments
Card details are entered on Stripe’s pages and held by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. We keep a record of subscription events and invoices for five years, as tax law requires.
People named in council records
The register repeats what councils publish. Where a council names an individual as a contractor, we show the name exactly as published and never an address, phone number or email. If you are named and believe the council’s record is wrong, the correction belongs with the council; tell us too and we will re-read the source.
Cookies and logs
We set one cookie, to keep you signed in. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs for a short time. We don’t run advertising or tracking scripts.
Your rights
Ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the personal details we hold about you. Personal details are deleted on request; billing records are kept for five years. Reply to any email from us.
